| INDIA NOVEMBER 2009 – (see photos here) Pastor Tom and Missionary Dan Wunrow from South Dakota embarked on a 2-week mission to India that included ministry in 4 cities in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka states. Pastor’s conferences were held in both states, with verse-by-verse teaching from the book of 2 Timothy, including instruction in how to teach verse-by-verse. We have received follow up reports that Pastors are excitedly beginning to use this teaching in their churches already! In a small Karnataka town we hosted 150 women for a 3-day afternoon conference. | |

We also were blessed to see Pastors from a multitude of church backgrounds come together to assist us in our evening Real Hope Outreaches in 2 cities. Each of the six nightly Outreaches saw many people respond to the Good News by publicly proclaiming Jesus as Savior and Lord for the first time! We talked to a very oppressed and hopeless lame man whose friends literally carried him to the Outreach, gave him the Gospel and saw him ask Jesus to forgive his sins and be his Lord; the next night at the Outreach we saw this same (NEW) man dancing on the stage and giving glory to God for healing him! |
We spent time ministering to the families from the Kids Development Program and were blessed to see the awesome worship and intense prayer life of these slum kids. They and their families are truly growing in the Grace and Knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ! The leaders of the 2 current homes are hoping to expand the ministry and would like to be able to minister to 500 kids in 20 homes! We currently support Pastor John S. and his family in their work for the Lord at Calvary Mission Church in India, and 6 other local Indian Pastor/Evangelists that are involved in outreach ministries in India. We also provide for over 30 kids in the daily afterschool program. Contact us if you would like to be a part of this work.
CHINA COURIER 2009 – Pastor Tom joined a group traveling throughout China carrying in gifts of Bibles and Christian materials to brothers and sisters that can receive them no other way! We were especially blessed to deliver Bibles in a local translation for a previously unserved ethnic group! And we got to encourage workers there and let house churches know we love and care for them. This was Tom’s 3rd trip as a Bible “mule”!
INDIA 2008 & 2009 – Pastor Tom and his wife Doris accompanied by Michelle Malane and Rob Gurney visited India in January 2008. We did 6 nights of Outreaches in 2 different cities, and also several days of conferences to Pastors and Christian Families. He did exceedingly abundantly above all that we asked or thought, according to the power that worked in us! Pastor John, the pastor we partner with and support in India was, by God’s grace, able to get over 80 churches involved with us in these Outreaches, so follow-up is happening and fruit is abounding! We have been asked by several pastors to visit other cities in India soon! There is also hope to begin a Pastor Training School. The daily Kids Development program in Karnataka is doing great! 30 kids come daily after school for homework help, a Bible lesson and a hot meal. They are taking the love and hope of Jesus to their Hindu neighborhoods and homes every day. The kids we support put on a program for us, singing songs of Praise to Jesus, doing skits, and having lots of fun! We also got to visit many of the kid’s parents in their homes! There are great opportunities in India. Pray that the Lord of the Harvest would raise up workers and provide resources to touch the lives of many!
JANUARY 2009: Tom & Skip McCabe completed a similar Outreach & Training Mission in 2 new cities. Many churches again came together to put on Outreaches where many heard the Good News and said “yes” to Jesus as their Savior & Lord!
MACAU, CHINA 2008 - In April Tom met up with Calvary Chapel Chino Hills and Calvary Chapel Kauai in Macau, China to minister with Pastor Rusty and Horizon Macau. We proclaimd the Gospel to many students at their schools and had several public Outreaches. Teams also visited prisons, and handed out a ton of Bibles to visiting tourists from Mainland China! Reports on Recent Relief Works in Myanmar (Burma) (Aug 19-20, 08)
The Guide and Team. The relief team, made up of 11 students of YG Bible School, was led by Brother S. who has been serving the Lord in the area where the Cyclone Nargis hit hard back in May 2008. S. has been known well by one of the team members, E. Together they arranged the plan and the team followed them in action.
Future Plan and Our Prayer Our plan and prayer is to send native missionary in this area and we have found out the believer whom the Lord has raised already and we are looking forward to working with him in the near future. You can join us through your prayer. SAINT PETERSBURG, RUSSIA 2007 – Cristina Gurney and Tom Worthington joined a team of 30 from our sending church, Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, in an Outreach Mission trip this September. The team ministered in orphanages and schools and spent time witnessing on the streets of St. Pete. We also invited mostly young people to 3 nights of meetings with emphasis on building relationships and showing young adults that Christians know how to live a joyful life, too! Each night after some fun games and good music we broke up into small groups to talk about real things in life like dreams, true love and freedom. These discussions offered an opportunity to share our foundation for these deep things, Jesus Christ our Savior! We saw a great interest in the real things of God, and several groups had multiple professions of faith. Many stayed on after the meetings to discuss these spiritual truths further. Pray for Calvary Chapel South and Pastor Dima as they follow up with the many contacts made during this trip.
At the invitation of a local church, we also visited a little town, Lugaa for street-witnessing and found many opportunities to share the love and hope of Jesus as Lord. Some of us visited a nearby tiny village that 2 sisters had been praying over for many years. Their prayers bore fruit as several ladies were very excited to hear and accept the Good News of Jesus, and wanted team members to tell their families also! But this same Good News was sneered at by many in that village, and one group at a bus stop that had angrily rejected hearing the Good News actually moved off quickly as we started playing worship music! Darkness flees!
Pray also for workers for the Harvest field in St. Pete, as Pastor Dima expressed the need for missionaries to come along side there and help minister to and equip the body, and continue to spread the Word of Jesus.
